October 23, 2019 Sent 3rd invoice to paying customer

Somehow, last weeks finally I got some attention of recruiters of Full-Stack Developer Roles and now the 3rd customer for the paid Pro Package ( Monese UK )
It's not the thing getting me rich but at least finally proof's somehow, that it works, recruiters are willing to pay (all 3 choose the more expensive package)

I will continue to do my daily Social Media Job Posts, daily quality checks the aggregated jobs and i will see if it gets some more track on https://fullstackjob.com

Cheers

Great job. Definitely a good sign when folks start paying!

I'd also take a look at where you found those recruiters and see if there is any data to help find more like them :)

Thank you. Yeah, good point to get this important feedback

Congratulations! 🎊 I can totally relate to the fact that it’s a HUGE milestone!

Btw, how long did it take you to get there?

    1. 1

Thanks. To long... About 7 months, got this 3 all in last 30 days

What in your opinion finally moved the needle?

        1. 1

          that's the million question :-)
I asked all 3, 2 answered, both said, that they got an indication of a college. So this college than probably found it somewhere. not very helpful...
What I continue is daily job posts, seo optimization for google jobs etc...
And working on my new project https://www.kunvenu.com :-)

July 12, 2019 How I came to New Pricing / Packages

Since I switched from Free to Freemium Model about two months ago, I had some things to think about and posted it on getmakerlog.com to the community:

The question in my mind...
Since about two months, I have the Freemium model for Job Postings in place. Or you post for free or for 39 USD and get featured, more skill tags and logo, etc...
I get posts, but always free.

Now there are a bunch of possible reasons for this.
The ones I see:

  • Value for the paid package is not good enough
  • The free package has all that they need
  • Difference between the 2 packages is not clear so they don't see the value
  • Price is too high
  • Price is to low

I'm thinking of doing a test and remove the free option, but make the free one eg 29 and the paid with featuring etc 49...
Can not loos much anyway. any thoughts?

Quickly I got valuable feedback, and I got to decide, to stop with free job postings, introduce a new basic package, make a bit better pro package and add an enterprise package, which is kind of subscription with the included amount of job postings and access to (they) job admin.

In my business, which is resume & LinkedIn Profiles reviews and complete rewrites/edits, giving away reviews for free in order to convert leads was a complete bust (run my company in Shanghai, so leads were 60% Chinese, 40% non-mainlanders which includes global inquiries). I delivered value in the reviews but people went away thinking they could then DIY (do-it-yourself) the fixes.
They couldn't since they don't edit these documents every day, week, month. But few converted too. Except for the huge companies with a lot of capital to burn, giving away something for free signals poor value to many consumers I have found. I set affordable yet fair prices for the entry level products and also upped my full service fees, still under competitors. Much better inquiries and serious clients who want to get the job done, not save 5-20% on something so important to them. My 2 renminbi.

June 28, 2019 Starter SaaS for IT Recruiters

My Niche Job Board Project "Full-Stack Developer Job Board" reached the first goal beginning of this month, which was having more than 6000 unique visitors per month. I reached this goal giving Candidates the right tools and content to find a job as a Full-Stack Developer.

Seeing the post's recruiters do I saw a very different level of job postings. Some are very professional done, others leak of professionalism in terms of quality of content, requirements, and formatting.

I will want to offer tools to the IT Recruiter, to help them do better job posts, engage with IT Candidates on the way they work and having tools to market both they jobs and them recruitment services. To do that I decided to split my project/product and start now with itrecruiter.io - Tools for the IT Recruiter

Selling to recruiters. Especially agency recruiters is brutal. Did it for 3.5 years. Happy to share more privately

June 20, 2019 Release 1.4: Filtered Job Alerts and Newsletter

Since beginning Full-Stack Job/Candidates Board has a Job Newsletter, where User can signup for daily or weekly Newsletter with a list of added Jobs during frequency.

Now with new Release, there is a possibility for the user to Setup different Newsletters, based on Filters for:

  • Tech Skill's

Hey.. I’m wondering what the workflow is for your job board - what do you use to automate the jobs being pulled into an email template?

    1. 1

      Hey...
Not sure if you mean WF for compiling the newsletter based on settings user did or how I "import" jobs.
      I assume it's first option :-)
I have a Go-based engine with a scheduler, on task running daily, other once-weekly Friday morning. this task is then going through all subscriptions, make query based on user settings in subscription, which gives a list of jobs and then i iterate over this list and add the jobs to the email template. these emails are added to a NSQ (kind of RabbitMQ) based queue and from there send out through smtp provider.
Then there is a option for user to get Info about new job added (also based on query). this is a job added via NSQ, which goes through subscriptions and where options are equal new job added, email is sent (via NSQ decoupled task) as above

      1. 1

Thanks @altafino, yes I meant the WF for compiling :) I'm trying to use Premotely as a node-code experiment. There's been a rise in "newsletter content curation tools" but they all assume you want to post a series of web links, not structured data. You're answer is still helpful though :)

I'm testing out MailerLite and a few others, even going as far as looking at their ecommerce integrations since they will pull in product data based on subscriber data.

        Anyway, thanks !
