Linking to your product. I think you are doing it wrong.

When linking to your product the anchor text plays a role in your SEO efforts.
While linking to our projects in the interweb we use the product name as the anchor text most of the time.
If your product name is a keyword you want to rank in Google this is fine, but if it is not you should use meaningful keywords to link to your product instead of using your catchy and hip product name.

I am no SEO expert though, just sharing what I read recently. :)

That is true, but if you have only anchored links, then you can get a penalty.
The mix is what you should aim for. With "naked" links you are building authority and ranking power, while with anchors you build up keyword power.

Thanks for the reply @BartBoch. I would love to read more about the penalty and "naked" keywords and the difference with anchors.

Can you recommend an article or even a book?

      Thanks again!

I would also recommend Moz for solid and understandable SEO training:

Sorry, Tekeste. I have been out of the SEO game for a while and now I am only a member of few chats and other communities.
Neil Patel has often some good reads. I bet he covered this angle as well. Try this (I have not read it, just checked first link on the subject by Neil):
