Any hip hop fans here? I'm building an app that notifies about new music by your favorite rapper
Freshhh - Never miss latest music by your favorite hip-hop artist
I was getting frustrated that there wasn't a way I could follow a specific hip-hop artist and get notified whenever there's a new mixtape, leak, album, music video, feature or just any new music by that artist.
What usually happens is that I miss new music because I don't have time to check reddit.com/r/hiphopheads, Youtube, Instagram or Twitter every day. Then I'm angry that it has been out for a few days/weeks and I missed it.
So I decided to build an app that does this for you.
What is it?
An iOS app that notifies you every time there is a new feature, track, mixtape, album, music video, or a leak by your favorite Hip-Hop artist.
It's not quite ready yet. I want to launch a beta in about 2 weeks. You can leave me your email and I'll let you know once it's ready though.
Why shouldn't I just use Spotify or Apple Music?
Because it doesn't work. At least for me. I never get notified when there's a new release. Secondly, my app also notifies you about features, mixtapes, music videos or leaks. A lot of artists in my country put their music on Youtube first so that's another reason.
Sorry, a bit of a rant, but I have a similar problem with concerts. Most of the artists I listen to have the most up-to-date tour dates either on their Facebook pages or on their sites. And I just need to go there each time I want to check whether they will have concerts nearby (I actually also live in Prague).
There is this app called Bandsintows. Supposedly, you subscribe to the artists you are interested in and they will send you updates. But for several months, they didn't send anything relevant but spams me with concerts not even slightly connected to my interests.
