Hi All, I have published a few articles on IndieHackers recently but the page views they get are drastically different. Like this one post that did 300+ view but my most recent one had only 9. Take a look at this image > https://i.imgur.com/AYr6iO5.png
Is there something I am missing?, like the best time to post an article or something.
Do let me know, I am curious to know where I am going wrong.
Thanks.
Publish your content whenever you can reply to comments. Interaction breeds traction in this case. Also a more interesting title helps a lot, community has common reflexes so trigger them.
Thanks, will try improving the title from the next one.
Maybe it's not because of appropriate-inappropriate time but just because the building a blog in a day is more impressive than adding RSS feed to your site?
Sure I agree, also the 'Blog in a day' article was about my experience rather than a list of instructions. I have noticed this even in my blog.
Thanks for your opinion.
Maybe its that rss is a dying tech in some ways and its not as relevant to IH users? Just a thought. (Not dying per se but not gaining ground either)
I agree with the answers given here already. Good to see how you pick up the feedback @skadimoolam, it does you credit.
To directly answer your title: yesterday. The best time to post an article is yesterday but today will do fine. The content will be either picked up or not.
As Gary Vaynerchuck and multiple other people address: cross posting is not an optimal form to execute coverage online. You write stuff for the platform intended or - at least - rewrite the same subject to highlight the parts that resonate with the crowd of the online platform.
ie: Adding an RSS feed would be interesting if showing how to code for your own blog or a developer blog. What adding the feed meant for your business (more traction, reads, ..) would be insightful for IndieHackers.
🙌🏻
I haven't also tried post an article yet here since i saw many IHers are technically coders or tech savvy. I'm not technical expert here even though a tech savvy. And i more spend my time to post my article on my own blog site. Maybe you need to consider the content you bring up (in my opinion)
I do publish these articles on my blog too, I cross post it here to promote the content to new audience.
Thanks for your suggestion, will work on richer content.
my posts didn't even get high votes here LOL
