Show IH: Design inspiration for SaaS product websites

Best Product Pages -

While designing the website for my side-project, I collected lots of screenshots of SaaS/app sites (100+ to date). Since these have been great guidance and inspiration, I figured I'd share my collection.

So, I launched http://bestproductpages.com

Part of this was to see if I could turn around a small project in a weekend. Since I ended up doing a custom WordPress theme rather than something off-the-shelf (as I originally planned), it took 4 days. I don't really have any plans to monetize it, though it could be useful for marketing my other design-related projects.

Love to hear what people think!

Very nice site, one suggestion though - the images load quite slow for me (surely not due to the connection).
I would suggest on moving from Dreamhost to something like DO or Vultr.

I would wait with monetization until you have some proper audience, then you can offer featured listing or pay-to-be-published kind of deal, that is good for SEO (you can set all links on site to nofollow, while paid submissions to dofollow so they pass SEO juice).

Yeah, Dreamhost definitely isn't the fastest out there. Probably moving them to S3 would be best, though right now I have unlimited bandwidth on my DH account.

I like the idea of pay-per-feature, particularly since my audience could overlap nicely with a service provider. Good point on the SEO. I hadn't thought of that!

To monetize it I guess you could use Betalist's revenue model.

      Ah, interesting.

I wasn't aware of how they earn money and it took some poking around. For those that are not aware, they charge a $99 dollar fee for an "expedited review". Apparently the waitlist for getting reviewed is 1-2+ months.

Betalist? There was $129 few weeks back. I paid for it :)).

Oh, price must have gone up then! I got that from a Quora reply from (I think) 2016.

Nice execution! I find it quite motivating to see nicely designed saas sites, can definitely help to get inspiration. Bookmarked :-)

@dkrape Congrats on the launch. I just signed up! It looks like you differentiate yourself from the pages showcased on lapa.ninja and land-book.com— excited to see more SaaS/product pages!

Thanks for signing-up! Yeah, I did want to have the site a bit more focused than the general design inspiration sites. I intentionally didn't research potential competitors before launching this, partly because I wanted to keep the effort super low.

Funny actually, I'd never seen lapa.ninja and haven't looked at land-book in ages. My design is quite similar, even with the floating boxes on hover! I guess that's a pretty logical approach for this sort of site. Oh well, at least I have a different color scheme.

I love all these types of sites.

    It looks good on mobile.

    A suggestion:

    1. break the pages down by category/industry. So you may have marketing apps, survey apps, messaging, etc or about pages, home pages, product pages, pricing pages, etc.

    2. You could add commentary about why you like it.

      Thanks!

      1. Agreed on category/industry. I've somewhat done that in the tags, but they are just lumped in there, which is not particularly useful.
      2. I've debated this, but I want to keep the site/effort super-lightweight. I can add a site in ~2 minutes (taking screenshots and tagging), so it doesn't take much time from higher priority stuff.

Ah, that makes sense. After all it’s a hobby project.

Again, looks great, I’ve bookmarked it.
