Proposal: Indie Hackers by Country

Hi my name is Andres and i from mexico. I want to contact to other indiehackers from my country.

So i want to do two things:

1.- Create a Github organization called: indiehackers
(given owner access to @csallen)
Then create repository by country

http://github.com/indiehackers/mexico

2.- On the repository country put a list of indiehackers projects and a telegram contact group link.

What do you think about the idea ? that can apply to other countries or cities

For the time being we won't be doing anything like this. We've explained why recently[1][2], and the explanation is definitely worth repeating:

    • We don't want individual indie hackers to have to choose between different platforms to connect with other indie hackers; this type of platform competition slows and confuses the community's growth.
    • Other platforms have their own destinies and incentive structures; Telegram, Slack, Facebook, reddit, and every other platform for communities is, before all else, a business which needs to follow its own private plan to make money. We can't be sure that their plans and incentives will always align with ours. So we figure it's best if we don't rely on what we can't control.
    • We've built this community software from the ground up with the explicit purpose of serving the interests of you and all the other indie hackers. We'll keep rolling features out that make the community better. (The feature you're discussing is on our 2018 roadmap, along with many other features that will make it easier for indie hackers to connect, share ideas, and meet up.)

I hate this idea. I'd have to change repos every three months.
