Morning.
Looking for a "mentor/co-programming" resource (for pay).
I've got a basic overview of a site (web/mobile). I'm looking to build the basic site asap. Initially I thought about finding similar github/opensource apps and doing a similar look/feel, but can't quite find what I need.
So, I'm looking to work with someone as mentor/teacher/co-programming using some of the shared programming environments. The front-end/initial tool decisions are critical. The rest I can probably handle.
Feel free to post if you know where I might find people to talk to who could be the mentor, or if you're up to this as well..
This would be a fairly short term situation.
thanks

ps. oh. The site will be a combination social network/viral-loop setup where the user signs up, gets an overview of the site, and then recruits others in order to access the rewards.. Nothing overly ambitous.
thanks!!
It sounds like you want to do most of the programming yourself and have someone who is at a higher level than you mentor you when you get stuck.
This is a great idea. There are studies out there that show you can’t replicate the speed and quality of learning in a 1-on-1 environment to that of a classroom setting. I’ve used this method to advance my programming skills as well.
I used Upwork to find candidates at a more advanced level than I in a particular programming language. As part of the interview process, I showed them existing code, and asked them to critique it and demonstrate that they could identify problems and suggest improvements (just like I would expect them to in the mentoring sessions). I have been doing that for 2 days a week, 1 hour each session and pay them by the hour. I have found a lot of success with this method and have been doing this for over a year now.
I hope this helps. Good luck!
