AI skepticism isn't about risk. It's about pace. The fastest way to judge it fairly is to actually use it.

I keep seeing the same reaction lately. Someone builds fast with AI, and instead of curiosity, the response is fear dressed up as caution. "This is dangerous." "This is going too far." "We need to slow down."

Some of that is genuine. Most of it isn't.

The honest version is simpler. Watching someone build in a weekend what used to take a team months is uncomfortable if you haven't adapted yet. It's easier to call the pace reckless than to admit you're behind it.

I'm not saying there are zero real risks with AI. There are. But most of the negativity I see isn't about risk. It's about pace, and about people who built their identity around being the expert suddenly watching that gap close fast.

The only real response to that discomfort is the same one it's always been.

Learn it. Not because it's trendy. Because standing still while everyone else moves is the actual risk.
