Amazon vs Unbound for pre-selling a book?
I'm thinking of pre-selling/crowdfunding the final stages of writing my book. I'm about halfway there, but need to buy myself some time to finish it.
My two thoughts right now are either:
1 - Gumroad for the ecommerce bit + publish via Amazon.
2 - Unbound for both crowdfunding + publishing.
Amazon has natural "reach", and supports reviews etc etc. But how do I fulfill the books when it's published? Purchase as Author Copies and send direct to the supporters?
Unbound does the whole thing, but I worry that the book will be a bit "lost" after the initial bump, with no chance to be found and recommended, in the same way Amazon offers.
Anyone got experience of either? Or a better recommendation?
