Build and Monetize a No-Code Product

I wrote about how to take a product idea, built with no-code, monetize it, and learn.

No-code stack:
💻 Carrd (landing page)
⚡️ Zapier (integrations)
💵 Gumroad (payments)
✉️ MailerLite (email course)
💼 NotionHQ (template and project management)

Start with Why

Your side project should be mission-driven.

I read the book ‘Show your work’ by Austin Kleon and was inspired to start sharing more of my work publicly. Hence we decided to create showw.work

Work with someone with similar mindset but complementary skillsets

I worked on this project with a friend and colleague, Aparajith, who is a designer.

We took part in the Makerpad 30 day no-code challenge in Sep 2020.

Find your competitive advantage

The Idea: Portfolio Templates + Email Course

We decided to start with Portfolio Templates targeted towards designers, as they were already used to creating portfolios.

We had experience in both design and career services.

Test the idea

We tested this idea by user interviews & then finalized on creating easy-to-update portfolio templates on Notion with sample case studies & a 4-week email course.

Promote

We primarily used our Twitter accounts and Makerpad for distribution.
