Competitors are stealing my users & an investor offers to help!

Background:
I have spent the last 9 months trying to build a twitter community for F&B to be able to sell them my products (apps, templates, courses,...). I finally managed to attract +35k F&B business owners. Suddenly, competition pops up everywhere.

Current Situation:
An investor offered to invest and I really need some money to build a community outside of twitter.

Here is my concern...
This guy is from the F&B market and I interviewed him during one of my twitter spaces which I do as part of the community content.

After he saw the engagement in the twitter space, he offered to invest. From my initial talk with him, it seems that his main goal for the investment is to have direct access to the community for his future marketing campaigns. This is my exact goal! This makes him a potential future competitor.

My Question:
Is it better to have an investor from outside the targeted market to avoid them competing with my future products and services which I intend to build for the community?
