Creating a product is hard enough; getting it discovered is even harder

The track is finished.
The mix sounds right.
And then nothing happens — because a song is not a post.

No feed circulates audio files. Every platform where discovery actually happens wants a video.

That's the gap we just closed. MuseGen already wrote the lyrics and generated the music; it now generates the music video too — bring a track, choose aspect ratio, resolution and art style, download the MP4.

Keep writing. Keep generating. Keep getting heard.

Good write-up. What would you do differently if you started again?

Ask earlier what people did with a track after they downloaded it. The MV feature exists because users told us they were taking their songs somewhere else to make a video, and we could have asked that on day one. Second thing: I'd spend less time posting and more time in other people's threads. The conversations taught me more than the announcements did.

Really relatable. How much time do you put into this each week?

    1. 1

Roughly 20-30 hours a week, and lately more of it goes to getting found than to building. Building has a finish line: the feature works or it doesn't. Distribution doesn't have one, so it keeps taking whatever time is left.

What made you pick this stack over the alternatives?

    1. 1

For us "stack" means scope more than tech: lyrics, music and video in one place. Every time you switch tools you lose some people, and we could see users leaving after they generated a song to go make the video somewhere else. Closing that gap mattered more than any framework choice.

Appreciate the honesty here, most people only share the wins.

    1. 1

Thanks. Though I'd argue the wins are the less useful half — they're pleasant to read and almost impossible to act on. The posts I've actually learned something from here were people describing the thing that didn't work, with the numbers left in. Cheaper to learn from someone else's version of it than to repeat it yourself.

Great breakdown. What feedback have you had from early users?

    1. 1

Thanks. The most useful feedback actually predates the feature — MV generation exists because people asked for it, not because it was on a roadmap.

We only did music at first. What kept coming back wasn't a complaint about the music itself; it was people finishing a track and then asking some version of "okay, now what do I do with this?" Enough of them said video specifically that it stopped reading as a feature request and started looking like the actual bottleneck. That's really what the post is about — I just hit the same wall one layer up.

On the MV feature itself, it only went live fairly recently, so there isn't enough usage behind it yet for me to say anything I'd stand by.
