Does editing break your writing flow too? Validating an inline rewrite idea.

1) Ideas & Validation

Hey IH 👋

I’ve been thinking a lot about how writing actually happens - not the glamorous part where the words look good, but the real part where we type, reconsider, delete, rewrite, and loop on the same sentence 6 times.

I realized something that surprised me:

Writing isn't the slow part.
Editing is the slow part.

Because the moment I switch from expressing - to polishing, I lose momentum.

My workflow currently looks like this:

  1. Write something that feels messy
  2. Copy - paste into ChatGPT
  3. Ask for rewrite
  4. Paste back
  5. Try to merge it with what I meant in the first place

It works - but it kills flow every time I switch apps.

So I started building something small called Rephrazo-AI - an inline rewriting tool that:

  • rewrites text where you write
  • shortens without losing meaning
  • keeps your tone instead of replacing your voice
  • eliminates copy/paste switching

But before I go deeper, I want to validate the core assumption:

Do most people write first and edit later,
or edit continuously as they write?

Because the answer changes how the product should feel.
