Does IH allow cross-posting? Canonical URLs? (assuming high-quality content)

I have found an old discussion here, are there any updates on this?

It seems like sometimes people are cross-posting their blog posts to Indie Hackers, and I'd like to do that as well (if it's acceptable here), but if you can't set the canonical URL, the search engines will penalize your website for duplicate content.

So I have two questions:

1. Does IH generally allow/welcome cross-posting, assuming that the content is high quality? In the thread above @channingallen said "quality over everything. we don't mind cross-posts one bit.", is that still true?
2. Is there a feature that allows people to set a canonical url (for search engines)? And maybe display a link to the original post (for people)? In that thread there was a discussion about experimenting with canonical urls feature - has it been removed or implemented?
