I'm not at the point where I'm creating the storefront presence yet. I'm back ot figuring out the operational process, to determine if this even makes sense.

My target/use case is creating the site to provide cheap textbooks to college users across 400-500 colleges. The basic idea is the user comes to the site, selects thetgt College/class, the site returns with the book required for the course. The site also returns some basic comparison data so the user can either purchase/rent the content from the site (hopefully), or get the book elsewhere. There will also be the usual trade/used book process for users at the local colleges..

In order to get to the "site" dev process. I need to get my head around basic workflow/operational issues.

IE:
-Credit Fraud expense ratios, how to reduce, what's expected?
-Insurance for theft
-Porch Pirate issues
-Fulfillment Costs/issues - List of what to deal with/expect, how these issues are handled
-Customer Acquistion Issues
-My tgt population -- college users, Not sure if I can assume they're trustworthy!
-Methods of customer accquistion/costs

Operational issues
-Inventory
-Partner Contractual Obligations
-Item Tracking processes for inventory -- (if this gets to the point of working)
Dev issues:
-Where to place the 'site/code'
-Redundancy
-Security/Security/Security
Testing/Testing

Ideally, a pertner that already has the skills/expertise/contacts with running a scalable operation would be the 'fit' to talk to on this.

I've been working in eCommerce for over 10 years. I'm happy to share some of my experience with you! Are you using an off the shelf ecommerce platform like Shopify or Big Commerce? The reason I ask, is they will likely have some tools to meet some of your basic needs to get started.
