Facebook ads: 4 learnings from my first experiment

I run a hobby blog with curated recipes (lindyrecipe.com) where I managed to get 6 supporters in total. This gave me a bit of a budget for experiments with FB adverts as a learning experience. 😇

I found some good sources at IH and used Facebook Interest Hunter. Well, it turns out there many great niches to try out.

Cost per results ranged from 0.03€ to 0.39€! Massive difference, see attached.

My main takeaways:

  1. find hidden FB audiences
  2. experiment with keywords
  3. include UTM in the link, so you can properly monitor which campaign is driving the traffic and how
  4. test several keywords and react asap

I cannot really judge on the quality of the traffic, because there is no real conversion behind, and I cannot monitor recurring visitors, but it was an interesting learning experience for a time when I need to spend some real money for a real business.
