Hi community
I've started working on a cloud storage platform.
With the available cloud storage options in the market, what problems do you people face or what more features can be included in a cloud storage solution, What fields/niche require a better cloud storage and file sharing platform.
I would be eager to hear your suggestions and try to create the best solution for everyone.
It sounds good that you started using cloud computing platforms for storage because they are economical compared to conventional on-premises storage choices. If you are particularly asking about the limitations of Firebase then yes, it has some problems.
Though Firebase is a good cloud platform with a reasonable Blaze pricing model but its vendor lock-in gives you headaches in some cases. Similarly, it is also hard to migrate data from Firebase to any other platform. I also heard about data security problems with this Google-backed solution. I think you should also consider Firebase alternatives from here https://blog.back4app.com/best-firebase-alternatives/ before making the decision.
Some other good cloud platforms are AWS Amplify, Parse, Backendless and Back4App. I think AWS Amplify because of its highly scalable and secure features. Back4App could also be a reliable choice if you are proceeding with a limited budget and have trust in the Parse server and hosting capabilities.
By the way, you should be more choosy about such cloud platforms if your project deals with sensitive data.
