Food for thought: What are your *default* settings?

Saw this tweet today: https://twitter.com/DavidSacks/status/1172978856883417088

"Settings are for successful products. For MVP, just get the defaults right."

And it has two messages:

  1. Save time while doing your MVP and don't think about edge cases until you actually have them;
  2. But, more important, make your research of what is the most typical default settings for your target audience? Maybe you can even skip some fields in your forms and assume something for your customers?

It's EXTREMELY important for launching any first version of the product. Cause the first impression with your app can't be changed - your defaults should lead the customer to their goal as quickly as possible. Otherwise you lose them.

Just some thoughts.
