How do you organize your UI design files?

It's my first big design project and my sketch file is just getting out of control. The sketch file is about 1GB, and it's super slow. I've tried keeping separate pages and grouping features into sections, but with a growing app, it's getting harder to find what I'm looking for.

It's also hard to keep track of the latest design that's actually live on the App Store since there are so many changes and it's hard to update the Sketch design all the time. Is there a service out there which could help me manage the latest live version designs?

So how do you organize your design files? Are there some best practices that could help? Do you start fresh sketch files every so often to reduce file bloat?

Thanks!

Sketch doesn’t handle large documents very well. Id recommend creating symbols for shared components and styles and save those into a sketch library. You can implement those in your designs and they will update everywhere you change them in your library.

I’d also recommend breaking out the different pages of your app into different files. When you iterate on that screen or flow, put it in a new file and archive the old file in an archive folder.

As far as softwares that can help with that:
    https://www.abstract.com/
It’s a Git based versioning software for sketch

I've been using shared components, but you're right I might have to break out the different pages into different files.

Awesome Abstract looks great! I'll check it out :) Thanks @bpica168
