We launched a SaaS company about a month ago. It’s a no-code data prediction platform where you can upload a spreadsheet and build machine learning models — no LLMs involved.
We think it’s pretty cool, but honestly, one of our biggest challenges right now is getting people to talk to us about it. I’ve been reaching out on LinkedIn, but most people don’t respond.
I’m trying to figure out what makes the most sense at this stage:
Should we offer a free trial first, or would a webinar/demo be a better way to get people interested?
Part of me feels like people don’t want to hear about a new product when they don’t know us yet or aren’t getting anything from us first.
For those who have launched a SaaS before, what worked for you when you were trying to get those first conversations?
Melanie, i checked your homepage. "If it's in a spreadsheet, you can predict it" is broad, while $499/month asks someone to understand the business value quite quickly.
I'd test one role and one decision before choosing trial vs webinar. For example, if stock planning is a use case your platform supports, show a sample sheet, the predicted number, and the reorder decision it would change. Compare it with their current simple baseline too. That makes the demo about a decision, not learning machine learning.
For the first conversation, sample data removes the hurdle of uploading a company's own spreadsheet. Then ask whether they make that decision often enough for a paid tool to matter. A general webinar can come later once the same question keeps appearing.
I run Cent, working with founders on getting users. Which specific decision do your best-fit prospects currently make in spreadsheets?
I think the first few customers are a different problem from the next few hundred.
At the beginning, I'd optimize for conversations and actual usage rather than trying to find a scalable acquisition channel immediately.
Once you see who gets value from the product and why they came in, you have something to build a distribution process around.
Otherwise it's easy to optimize the channel before you really know what kind of user you're trying to reach.
I wouldn’t test trial vs webinar yet. I’d find five people with the same spreadsheet decision, build one prediction with each, and note where the setup repeats. Which role owns that problem today?
i like that idea!thank!i need those people.
Before choosing trial vs demo, have you learned whether the people who do respond understand the problem but hesitate to try, or whether you're mostly reaching prospects who don't have a strong enough use case?
i know who more likely to have problems but they need to know more how much we can help them.maybe i want to educate them first before selling.i really dont know which direction.it is www.yourcloudgroup.com ,Can you check and tell me what you think?if you dont have time it is ok.
That distinction is worth digging into, especially the gap between recognizing the problem and understanding the value. If you’re open to it, what’s the best email to reach you on?

Thanks! I’ve just sent it over.
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts whenever you have a chance.
