I published an Open-Source library for MeiliSearch!

Hi everyone!

It’s been a while since I’ve posted but I’ve been hard at work building out https://pigeonpost.io for our closed beta coming in the next two weeks.

One of the main problems we wanted to solve was giving users the ability to search for emails quickly and easily.

Often the best tool for something like this is Algolia, however we found that it would end up being too expensive for us to scale that out. As such we decided to go with MeiliSearch (https://www.meilisearch.com/) which is a free, open-source alternative that’s just as fast.

But that’s when we ran into the same problem that a lot of indie hackers run in to. How do we easily and programmatically index our data from MongoDB into MeiliSearch without explicitly making a separate API call every time in our code.

That’s where MongoMeili comes into play! We build a Mongoose plugin so you can integrate MeiliSearch into your stack in less than 10 lines of code!
