I’m trying to grow a small resume app with almost no marketing budget.
One thing I changed this week: instead of guessing what people might search for, I started looking at the actual queries appearing in Google Search Console.
My site is still tiny, but Google is already showing it for searches around resume skills, ATS resumes, resume summaries and work experience.
So today I picked one of those clusters and built a new guide around it: 50+ good skills to put on a resume.
The interesting part is that I’m not expecting this single page to suddenly bring traffic. The plan is to build a small cluster of useful pages, connect them with internal links, and see whether impressions start turning into clicks over the next few weeks.
Here’s the page if anyone wants to take a look:
Still very early, but I’ll share the numbers once there’s enough data.
Search impressions are a useful starting signal, but the business question is whether those visitors reach the app. Are you tracking clicks from each guide to signup?
