Hi y'all!
See part 1 of this series here: https://www.indiehackers.com/post/inspo-idea-to-mvp-1-0d6ecdfa69
Inspo helps people create design moodboards quickly and fluently, to enable extra creativity and inspiration.
In my last update, I sketched out the basic idea for what I want to MVP, and set up a quick landing page at: www.useinspo.com
First things first, I wanted to dive into Figma to quickly whip up what an MVP might look like.
My intention in this stage is to not freak out too much about design systems or brand; just stick to a core idea of being bold and friendly.
After about 30 minutes of playing around, I landed on this:

You know what? You can actually just check out my Figma project for this here: https://www.figma.com/file/mjp2BHkI0AaEGqeyaXoLRc/Inspo?node-id=9%3A3
Enough to get started with!
My preferred stack is the TALL stack. Tailwind CSS, Alpine.js, Laravel and Livewire. I love tapping into the power of Laravel on the backend, with the extremely minimalistic Alpine.js framework supercharging Livewire on the frontend.
This isn't a dev blog so I won't bore you with the details, but feel free to ask questions!
I've been coding on this in my spare time for about 2-3 nights (didn't get all too much done over the weekend), but have made some really awesome progress!
Currently, you can create a board, upload images, drag them around to reorder nicely (with a magical autolayout driven by a package called Muuri). You can click shuffle for it to randomize the order.
I shared a bit of my progress late last week on Twitter: https://twitter.com/userlastname/status/1286844193436921856
Since then, I've mainly been fixing little bugs but have made a bit more progress. You can watch a slightly longer (30 second) demo here: https://www.loom.com/share/a76f84e62e014a0ea3fe1cff2115bac7
I'm stoked with the progress, and hope to have this MVP out by week's end!
A few things to tidy off before I get this out to you guys to try out!
Need to do all of the auth stuff, which is mostly taken care of by Laravel. Need to allow users to associate the board with their account, create new ones etc. But also I want to place some basic limits on the accounts straight up, as they'll be free and I'm basically hosting images!
I'm thinking: max 15 images per board, max 5 boards. Maybe that's too restrictive?
My thinking is that if enough people like it, I'd like to open up a paid account that has no limits.
Anyway, likely more on that in the next update! Let me know your thoughts and feel free to follow me on Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/userlastname
