Just launched: WCAGScans – AI helper for quick accessibility checks

Hey Indie Hackers,

I’ve been hacking on a small tool to solve a pain point I kept running into: making websites accessible without spending hours running manual audits.

The result is WCAGScans
. It’s an AI-powered accessibility helper that:

Runs a scan in ~60 seconds

Flags common WCAG issues (alt text, form labels, contrast, headings)

Gives you a simple score + shareable report

Free plan: 5 scans/week

👉 Important caveat: It’s not a replacement for manual accessibility testing. Think of it more like a “first pass” to catch the obvious stuff, so you can focus on the tricky parts.

It’s brand new (literally just launched), so I’d really love some feedback:

Would you trust an AI helper like this as part of your workflow?

What features would you want before upgrading (bulk scans, reports, API)?

Any devs/agencies here who’d like me to run a free sample audit on their site?

If anyone tries it and finds a bug or has an idea, I’d be super grateful 🙏

Thanks for reading — still very early days, but hoping this could be useful for indie founders, devs, and agencies trying to keep accessibility in mind without slowing down.

Thanks for checking this out everyone. Honestly still super early days… I hacked this together because I kept wasting time running the same manual checks over and over. It’s not a full accessibility audit tool (yet), more like a little AI helper to catch the obvious stuff so I can move faster.

I’m still figuring out what’s most useful — bulk scans, API access, maybe even some kind of agency dashboard?

Happy to run a free scan on anyone’s site if you’re curious. Just drop a link.

(and yeah sorry if the site feels a bit rough, launched this faster than I should of 😅
