Hey y'all ๐
I've been actively building my side project deliberate.so over the last 3 months. Today I launched into open beta. ๐
Stats:
It's a web app that helps users level up their Python skills faster. So far I've had 12 signups in the last hour!
Pre-launch:
I took the advice of a couple of indie hackers here and began building in public on twitter and it has been an enormous benefit to me.
I always strayed away from Twitter because people talked about how toxic it is. I began 3 months ago and have ~750 followers already. I've met and talked to tons of folks online who are building amazing things. I can't recommend building on twitter enough. Especially if you're in the tech space.
Things I wish I did differently:
I spent about a week and a half configuring and setting up a full AWS deployment setup with ci/cd. Later on I discovered Render and it took me about 10 minutes to deploy my whole stack including ci/cd.
I wish I bought tailwindui much earlier. It has been an insane productivity boost despite it's somewhat high price tag.
Launch-day:
I sent out the email blast and shortly after figured out the code execution system was broken due to an SSL issue. Spent ~30 minutes troubleshooting and fixing the issue.
12 users signed up, most of them completed at least one lesson.
Onwards and upwards!
