Let me set up your self hosted office suite
I just set up a self hosted office suite based on NextCloud for myself.
With my setup, I can get:
- Unlimited email addresses
- From unlimited domains
- Unlimited email aliases
- Supports tags (username+tag@domain.com)
- Connect to any client with IMAP, SMTP
- Contacts
- Calendar
- Nextcloud Files (equivalent to Google Drive)
- ActiveSync: Easily sync your email, calendar and contacts to your mobile devices as exchange accounts.
- Any Nextcloud apps - Nextcloud App Store - such as:
- Talk: Chat, video & audio-conferencing using WebRTC
- Deck: A kanban style organization tool aimed at personal planning and project organization for teams integrated with Nextcloud.
- Tasks: Tasks can be shared between users. Tasks can be synchronized using the calendar since each task list is linked to an Nextcloud calendar.
While setting up NextCloud can be straightforward, setting up a mail server is quite difficult to get right especially when we want it to integrate seamlessly with NextCloud.
With my setup, the mail server is complete with all the required standards: Encryption, SPF, DMARC/DKIM.
A new user is created for each nextcloud user and the configuration to access the mail is automatically added so they can use the integrated mail app in Nextcloud without having to manually enter their credentials.
