Measuring monthly recurring happiness (MRH) ๐Ÿ‘

A few weeks ago, I mentioned that I'd recently started measuring my monthly recurring happiness (MRH) ๐Ÿ˜Ž

As I'm building a lifestyle business, this is the North Star metric I'd like to optimise for.

Using Notion, I've created a table for keeping tabs on this score.

Below my list of daily tasks, I've added a simple table with 31 rows.

At the end of each day, I score my overall happiness out of 10.

When scoring each day, I've also created a guideline for how I grade my rating.

For example, if I experience a day where I just coast by, I'll only allow myself to rate it a 6.

Although I'm generally content on the days, I'd prefer to do things that truly bring me joy.

At the end of the month, I just calculate the average score across all days to determine my overall rating.

If my rating between months starts to drop, I'll know to prioritise doing more of the things I love to lift my score โœŒ๏ธ

I'd love to see more makers measuring their happiness if it's something they value.

I love the MRH term. :D

It's also interesting that you seem to average around 7. I feel like this would happen to >50% of people.

Thanks! Everyone's own score is open to their own interpretation, so the average will vary based on their own lifestyle factors.

For me, a 7 is above average, but still has room for improvement.

Donโ€™t studies show that everybody goes back to their own average happiness level (โ€œset-pointโ€) after a while?
