My 14 day hack: good news. and bad news

Indie jobs are like the number 23 bus. None come along for ages, and then suddenly 3 arrive at once!

My main startup project www.clickacall.live was in a holding pattern since November while we tried to sort investment for the next stage. It was taking a while, hence me starting a 14 day hack on my Venture Cards idea.

And then 4 days in to my hack we find our magic Angel who has shaken our hands (virtually over Zoom) and it's full steam ahead.

So as of last Saturday, my head has been back in Clickacall as CTO, planning our big dev roadmap.

Exciting times. But Venture Cards is back on the shelf. Am I the only one with a shelf full of half finished projects!?

But I love side-hustling, so am now figuring a few ideas around creating a newsletter/community. This will hopefully take a little less time and fit nicely around my startup "day job".

This game we all love often feels like a dance... 3 forward, 2 back and a sidestep, kick and another push forward.

The Hackers Dance! ;-)

Great post, Steve! What comes to my mind is, that our unfinished projects compare to a good selection in a home bar: The more items you have hoarded, the more likely the next party is big. Cheers!

      ha! I love it!

actually, I wonder if there is a marketplace idea here - we all put our unfinished projects on. Find someone else who can see something in it, has ideas on how to finish it and is willing to take it over. Work out some revshare or equity split and ... of it goes again, back to life!

Yo, especially to find even better executers. But the original owner surely sometimes develops more strategic, feature and use case ideas over time. So I personally probably would like to be further engaged...

The guru approach maybe worthwhile, maybe not...

maybe it's a case of pulling a group of IH'ers together and each puts their idea into the pool. Then the team evaluate+validate each one to pick the best. Then they all work on it together. Once it is finished and running and making $$$MRR, then they move on to the next idea in the pool.

Dunno, I am just throwing ideas around. I am sure there is a better way to work together so we don't all end up putting our ideas on the shelf ;-)
