Never underestimate the power of LinkedIn pages and your personal brands 🙌
My side project Remote Work Junkie (https://remoteworkjunkie.com/) has hit the following stats in it's second full-month being live, with LinkedIn leading the charge out of all channels currently:
→ 105% increase in job applications
→ 100% increase in remote job alert sign-ups
→ 57% increase in free job seeker accounts created
→ Over 2k brand searches in the last 7 days on LinkedIn
And approaching 7k pageviews this month on the blog content, with Google contributing less than 18% of that traffic (the majority coming from LinkedIn)!
While I start to build out the content side for SEO, LinkedIn has been a HUGE driver of awareness and traffic in the meantime. Not only from my small personal brand (3.6k followers) on that channel, but the company page I created too.
The LI page has now grown to over 550 followers in less than two months and some of my link posts there, drives hundreds of clicks. Certainly might not be a lot of followers compared to many pages out there, but it's a great start.
Without using social media in effective ways prior to this project, I would not be seeing these some decent growth so soon.
Here's what I do:
→ 5-6 days a week posting on the company page and mixing up the content types. This being snippets of text from blog posts, remote jobs, highlighting companies hiring remotely, posting blog links, etc. But I write like a human and give the copy a voice.
→ 2-3 days per week, I work on my personal brand via LinkedIn where I talk about marketing, side hustles, and remote work. Been doing this for about a year already, so having some traction ahead of launch was key.
→ I comment and engage with others that share relevant content on LinkedIn as my company page. Giving the brand page a human element.
The above takes me about 15-25 mins per day in the morning, where I'm posting/engaging, so doesn't take up much of my time at all. Decent ROI for the time spent I think.
I certainly do not want to just rely on one channel either, so other mediums like Reddit, Quora, and Google are my additional focuses. I've seen success on these with my past website project as well.
Now as this site continues to grow, my next steps are spend more time driving some $$ by monetizing further via sponsorships, ads, affiliates, and the job board.
Have you seen any results with LinkedIn? Curious if others have found some initial growth or results from this network.
