Newsletter to a Product (Thread)

During lockdown one of the fun hobbies was browsing on r/battlestations and other setup related subs on Reddit.

Out of fun and curiosity I started a newsletter to share beautiful setups inspirations via email.

It quickly went on to 500+ subscribers with over 50% open rate. Highest open rates and clicks on all standards.

I reached to owners of setups which I loved on reddit & twitter to share their setup stories and how they go about designing their workspaces.

Questions were send on a Google form where most of time spend was for uploading to drive and listing items on the desk.

After 30 submissions, I thought of optimising that step with a simple tool. There wasn't any tool out there, hence we created https://pictag.app

Think of it like an Instagram but for products and sharable with just one link. It's like if Imgur and Pinterest had a baby!

This is currently being used by Reddit users on these subs when sharing their setups as well on my newsletter.

We now have over 100 setups shared by real people on the internet and it's been growing like anything!
