Hello, long time lurker here (mostly via Twitter).
I'm looking for some small startups that could benefit from someone covering support queries whilst they are in the early stages. I've a decade of experience, but due to some health issues I've had about 4 years out of work and am now mad keen to get back in the saddle. I'm good at covering both technical and customer support, and also creating documentation for products.
I've worked for a fair few SaaS companies, including for Wildbit in Philadelphia. I'm based in France but am a native English speaker, and happy to work to most USA time zones.
If this is something some folks are interested in, I'd love to hear from you. I've kept the above brief, if you have questions I'm not shy!
Given that a few people have queried why on earth I'd be offering this (a fair question), I thought I'd add a bit more of an explanation. There are two reasons.
About four years ago, whilst working at Wildbit, I ran into some pretty significant health issues. It severely compromised my working ability, which is why I left Wildbit. Since then I've had a number of things diagnosed, conditions suitably managed (happy to discuss exactly what if it makes a difference), and am all round far more productive. But I don't want to jump right in to something that's 50+ hours a week without a slightly more gentle re-introduction to proper work.
The second part is that I've not been working for some 4 years now, which is a long old gap for anyone to have on their CV. I've not been twiddling my thumbs in that time, we have two small boys who I look after, and we're in the midst of a massive house renovation project, but none of that really counts to much when compared to people who are currently working to prospective employers.
So there we go, that's why I'm offering some time for free to those that could benefit from some dedicated customer support / technical support / customer success work in their endeavours.
This is a very generous offer. I think you might be interested in my startup. We should get in touch. My email is linked in my profile.
