Prep before launching my App on App Store and Android Play Store?

Hi Indiehackers,

I am about to launch my first app on App Store and Android Play Store.

As this is my first time. I am looking for some suggestions from people who have already launched an app on these two stores.

Any help will be really appreciated. 🤞

Hey, congrats on getting ready to launch!

I have an app in the App Store and there really isn't too much prep work you need to do. The really nice thing about the App Store is you can always change your screenshots, your marketing copy, and the keywords you use on each update. So if you get them wrong on that initial release, just upload a new version and change them.

I recommend making sure you do some research into the keywords you use. Try to cast a wide net and try to pick diverse keywords. Again, you can always change them, but I think having a diverse set makes it more likely you'll get one or two keywords that don't have a lot of competition. Some keywords have so much competition that you have no chance of being found if users search for them, so they just end up wasting keyword space.

Make sure you keep a log of keywords you use from release to release so you know what you've tried and haven't yet.

Keep track of changes you make from release to release as well. I try to write a bullet point whenever I add a major feature or fix a major bug. Then I just copy-paste it into the "what's new" section of my release notes.

    Best of luck!
