Basically the title says it all.
I am building https://tesolhub.co with the aim of becoming the LinkedIn of TESOL(Teaching English to speakers of other language) teachers and students learning English.
There is strong competition in this space but It's a proven business model.
I reckon I need about 1000 registered users before reaching out to schools about potential job postings on Tesolhub.
In the last few weeks, I spent most of my time reaching out to potential users on Reddit, Facebook and improved my application's SEO.
The results are starting to pay off. I am seeing a trickle of new users each day.
Its not much but I feel like there is some kind of momentum going.
I always pictured that once I created the "right" product, users would just show up magically(one can dream!) but I now understand that reaching out to users directly through other platforms is the best way to spread the word about a product.
Within the next few days, I will personally reach out to all registered users to ask them why they decided to create an account and what do they think is missing from the application.
I am not expecting a lot of answers but even if I get a single response, I am convinced it will be time well invested.
This post is just a small celebration really, i don't really have anyone else to share this with but I wanted to thank the IH community for everything I have learned so far. It's only the beginning.
Cheers,
