In multiple incidents worldwide, Apple AirTags, designed to track belongings, were secretly placed in people's bags or cars to track their movements without consent.
Some victims only found out after receiving a late notification from Apple’s system… by then, the stalker already knew their patterns.
How to stay safe:
Check for unknown Bluetooth devices nearby using apps like AirGuard (Android) or Apple's built-in Find My alerts.
If you find an AirTag that’s not yours, disable it immediately by removing its battery.
Be aware of your surroundings and inspect your belongings if you suspect tracking.
Use privacy settings on your phone to limit background Bluetooth tracking.
In the wrong hands, "smart" devices can be too smart for your safety.
