Share Your Favorite Linux Monitoring Tools and Tips

“Ever had one of those nights where your system’s throwing a tantrum—90% CPU usage, memory maxed out, and logs taking over your disk space?”

That was me a few weeks ago. It was 2 a.m., and I was scrambling to figure out what was going on before everything came crashing down. Linux monitoring tools came to the rescue:

  • top showed me which process was hogging all the CPU.
  • free gave me a clear snapshot of memory usage.
  • df -h let me see how much disk space I had left to clean things up.

These tools are simple but solid—they’ve helped me countless times when things get dicey. But I know there’s more out there, and I’m always looking for new tricks.
