I am skilled in backend development, but I don't fancy frontend and most of the ideas I come up with always require some advanced frontend.
I am curious to know which ideas you guys have that would need no or minimal frontend to become a viable product.
You can try some API based SAAS as they tend to be backend heavy. Some examples are newsapi, bannerbear.
Thank you, that was also kind of that type of product I had in mind, I just haven't found the correct idea yet for this type of project.
Do you see a gap in the market?
The SaaS market is quite saturated I think, so it is hard to differentiate in the market.
I have been playing around with a couple of backend heavy ideas, recent one being Analytics Tally. Another one was more like an weekend project PH2020.
Also if you feel frontend is too hard for you, collab with some frontenders and designers. I have a friend who converts my crappy drawing into logos and illustration and another friend who helps me with css when needed.
Awesome friends :)
Yeah I am looking for someone with those competencies as well.
Just a question regarding the business Analytics Tally. What value does it provide over using Google Analytics dashboard itself? And have you been able to acquire customers and if so how did you market it?
Basically it simplifies the dashboard (at least for me) as I can easily see where the traffic is coming from and how much pretty easily. GA provides a lot of data and I don't need all of them.
Also you can publicly share your analytics for e.g. https://analyticstally.com/stats/7/analyticstally.com
And you can add multiple site and view their traffic from the same dashboard. Eventually my plan is to add other services like stripe, mailchimp, twitter so you can see all of your metrics at one place.
Right now I have 1 paying customer and around 15 on free tier. I haven't done much marketing but will try some in the coming days.
Nice idea and good conversion rate being a new service.
Which use case does your customer use it for?
