Stand-Up #71 - April 18th, 2020
I'm a little late today (not technically the 18th anymore), but that's okay. I wanted to finish the entire authentication in Postgres before doing today's update. Happy to say I did it!
I'm way less used to this whole SQL style. It's currently my first time working with it. Definitely takes me longer to get stuff done than if I was working with NoSQL (Mongo).
A little effort now will save me a lot of time in the long run though. I'll be able to use free managed Postgres through Heroku. That's fantastic because I do NOT want to waste my time maintaining and administrating my own MongoDB instance on AWS or Digital Ocean.
And I know Atlas is a managed MongoDB with a free tier, however they charge for data transfer, unlike Heroku, and I heard horror stories about their service incorrectly calculating total data transfer and way overcharging startups.
