Stand-Up #82 - April 29th, 2020

Stand-Up #82 - April 29th, 2020

I found pretty much what I was looking for as far as icons go with FontAwesome today. I was originally hoping for SVGs in base64 format so that I could add them directly to the CSS, but I saw that FontAwesome had a free tier and that they have an npm package that turns them all into easy-to-use React components.

I'll be working the following icons into the existing countdown cards tomorrow:
https://fontawesome.com/icons/globe-americas?style=solid
https://fontawesome.com/icons/calendar-alt?style=regular
https://fontawesome.com/icons/map-marker-alt?style=solid
https://fontawesome.com/icons/tag?style=solid
https://fontawesome.com/icons/stopwatch?style=solid
https://fontawesome.com/icons/edit?style=solid

Not so sure about the last one on that list... I may swap it out tomorrow after getting everything working.

Yesterday's progress:

  • Continue with UX/UI + styling of the countdown list cards to more accurately convey information at a glance (i.e. text shading, icons, etc.)

Today's progress:

  • Find more icons to be used in the countdown cards

Tomorrow's progress:

  • Get the npm react fontawesome package working properly and add the new icons into the countdown list cards

I included links to the icons that I plan on using instead of screenshots today.
