Standup #7

Yesterday I reached my goals regarding outreach to artists. I started but did not finish, implementing a new bootstrap theme for my landing page and demo.

Today I plan to:

Finish the redesign of the landing page and demo page
Conduct more artist outreach via instagram
See if I can adjust the Reddit ads to get more traffic

How are you finding Reddit ads Michael? That's something I've wanted to look into

Hey Karl, perhaps this is a topic I can write something longer about at some point, but to answer your question:

TLDR; eh, okay, but unclear if it is my ads, my target audience, or reddit.

      Details:

Launched maybe 4 days ago. Started with just one ad, now I have 3 ads going in the same campaign. I'm promoting a new web platform for artists, and I'm specifically targeting the ArtistLounge subreddit.

At this point, I'm just looking for a few beta testers and am not going to charge those first users. My thought is/was that artists are somewhat non-technical and less likely to try new things (than say, your average IHer), but that artists on a site such as Reddit would be more apt to try something new.

I tried two "traditionally" worded ads and one "cheekier" version (thinking it's Reddit, so maybe some edginess will appeal more). The traditional versions have performed slightly better. I'm paying under $2 per click, converting at less than .5%, but have had a few people go from the ad to either try the demo and/or sign up to beta test, so that is a success.

As they say, "your mileage may vary" so give it a shot and let me know. Hope this helps.
