Hello! I am Jayendra, I am aspiring Indiehacker, Who doesn't want to work on job simply because I see scalablity and flexibility in business as well as freelancing(I am starting with little to no money). This topic just popped up in my head after my friend gave his wisdom of how he works efficiently without taking any stress as a solo founder.
So, these are few check points you may need to pass before you start as a solo founder.
The art of listening(most crucial)
This is really necessary because this can make or break your game without even getting started. When you start talking with people for anything first of all you need to become a white paper which can absorb the valuable information people might give to you, prepare what questions you might ask, remember prospects needs to feel that you are giving them full(but relaxed attention otherwise you will push them off) attention. I know developers(I am developer too!) have hard time to connecting with people but remember there is nothing special you need when you "go out there".
Ability to calm down inner storm(on not having storm at all)
This again usually overlooked but crucial aspect for founders(actually everyone). You need to learn how to "empty" your mind so you don't get caught in every thought that comes in your head. It can take time to learn. When obstacles or difficulties arises in work, when things don't go according to expectation, when
other people or circumstances are not helpful or cooperative, instead of immediately becoming one with the new situation and responding to the requirements of the moment, most people react against the situation and separate themselves from it, and a huge amount of energy is burned up in useless protest, depression or anger, energy that could be used for solving the situation if it were not being wasted.
Learning sales skills
Again most people will like to code whole day rather than "going out there", Start building Minimum Viable audience, Learn copywriting, Content writing, Graphics design(basic), and also how to sell(Don't try sell something at first, they need to trust you, educate them, listen to them, your authenticity is necessary to sell your product).
Prioritizing and outsourcing
Prioritization is necessary, see what tasks you need to done prioritize them, leave tasks(or outsource them) which consume most time but are less necessary, otherwise you'll spend hours working on something which is not worth it at all. Outsource tasks if you have money and you have less time to complete them.
Taking care of your mental and physical health
Spend time with nature, go for a walk, get out of your small head otherwise you'll be confined in your own echo chamber. As someone said, I find it funny when people deteriorate their health to earn money and then spend it to become healthy again.
