Tech Job Board That Enforces Transparency

Idea is basically the title. At the minimum, job posts would be required to:

  • have a tight salary range with a hard minimum.
  • provide interview loop details--how long, how many interviews, kind of interview, etc.
  • tell candidates exact dates by when they should hear back after each hiring stage
  • disclose any on-call practices/rotations
  • all the other typical job description things

Some nice-to-haves:

  • onboarding process descriptions
  • average pay for employees at the same level
  • etc. etc.

I think this is a good time for a job board like this to be successful. Tech employees usually have more leverage than employees in other industries, but with the rise of remote work and a general push back against ridiculously long interviews and pointless algorithm questions, tech workers have never had more leverage to work on their own terms.

On the employer side, I only see being more transparent and upfront in the hiring process as a benefit to a company and its reputation.

Of course, making a job board is hard, suffers from the 2-side market problem, etc. This in particular would need incentives for job posters to be honest in their posts.
