We got tired of chasing remote team updates, so we built a solution.

Hey everyone,

A few months ago, our team hit a wall with daily updates. Managing a remote setup is great, but we found ourselves spending more time chasing people for "What are you working on today?" and "Who's in today?" than actually building.

Slack updates were getting buried, manual standups felt like micro-management, and spreadsheet trackers were just... painful.

We realized the real problem wasn't that people didn't want to update; it was the friction of the process.

So, instead of complaining, we decided to build a simple tool internally to solve our own headache. We call it Trackly.net.

What we wanted to solve:
Zero-friction check-ins: No one wants to spend 10 minutes filling out forms.

Clear visibility: Knowing who is active, away, or on leave at a single glance without pinging them.

Killing the manual standup chaos: Automatically compiling updates so the team can focus on deep work.

We’ve been dogfooding it ourselves, and it has honestly saved us hours of back-and-forth every week. Now, we are opening it up to see if other small remote teams face the same issue.

We aren't looking to sell anything here—we genuinely want to know how other Indie Hackers manage remote team alignment without feeling like micro-managers.

If you have a minute, we'd love for you to check out Trackly.net and give us your brutal, honest feedback on the landing page or the concept.

What does your team's daily update workflow look like? How do you keep it painless?
