What is the best way to get testimonials?

We are currently redesigning our landing, according to the wonderful advices of @gonzamordecki14
But we are currently struggling to collect reviews of our clients - even if they are happy, once we deliver, they just disappear lol. They come back to us only if they re-order.
That's why I'm posting here guys, what are your best practices to collect these so important testimonials?

Have you try sending emails and ask for testimonials?
I think good comments on PH (as @gonzamordecki14 said) would works too

BTW a good way to get testimonials is to do a couple of jobs for free or with a discount in order to get a good and valuable testimony.
