Who to target for my no-code Zoom business?

Hi everyone,

I've been building software/businesses for 10+ years and I wanted to take a new approach to building. I want to launch a no-code business to validate demand before I write any code.

So, I launched Your Virtual Background at the beginning of December to allow Zoom users to purchase branded virtual backgrounds for video conferencing.

I ran $200 worth of Facebook and Google ads targeted towards real estate agents and other sales reps and got $0 in revenue. I had several people goto the Stripe checkout page but they didn't purchase.

How would you go about finding a market for this product? I built this because someone asked me to design a Zoom background for them and they were a sales rep. Targeting sales reps on Facebook didn't yield any results.

Any growth/validation feedback or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Here's an idea:

    1. Create an affiliate program for your site
    2. Google "zoom virtual background" (without the quotes)
    3. Find any website that is ranking for that (or a similar) term, contact them, and see if they'd be open to join your affiliate program
    4. Repeat for other similar phrases to see if you can find more website leads

Your pitch has to be good & unique because websites with good SEO get hit up all the time with requests to put links in their articles.

    Another idea:

    1. Google "zoom virtual background" (without the quotes)
    2. Find the top 10 articles that provide lists of where to find virtual backgrounds, then write a "Where To Find The Best Virtual Backgrounds for Zoom" article on your site that summarizes all of them.

    Good luck.

Thanks for the idea Mike. This is solid.

I'll try reaching out to some authors that are ranking for some related search terms and pitch them on an affiliate program.

I've seen VCs using a branded background in all their calls (many investors from the same VC use the same set of backgrounds, containing the logo of their fund)

Maybe that could give you an idea?
