Why does Stripe not have a user Authentication product?

Having to implement the connection between your database, authentication, and Stripe takes a decent amount of time. Why doesn’t Stripe have an Auth product to associate Stripe Customer -> Auth User?

Hey Austin! That's a really great question. Maybe they're focusing their time and effort on their core business: payment processing. User authentication is actually a whole lot of work. That's why there are companies focusing their efforts on that (Auth0, Magic, AWS Cognito).

I'm actually working on a tutorial that integrates Stripe with Magic auth, so that users for my sample app can pay a one time fee to get lifetime access to Premium Content. It's almost ready and I'll share it with you once I publish, but here's my source code just in case you're interested: https://github.com/magiclabs/magic-stripe.

Btw, my app's pretty simple, so I didn't bother to connect to a DB.

What's your use case for? An E-Commerce store? A paid newsletter website? Or a paid course?

Thanks for the response. I am building a hosting service for a one-time product I sell. The hosting service is a SaaS. I have almost finished implementing Stripe and Auth0, but if I was earlier on I might have used your tutorial.

Nice! I'm glad to hear that you were able to find a solution that works for you. Would love to see it once it's finished and ready to be shared 😄.
