Hi Everyone,
I need to pick between a .io address (with my exact company name) or a .com address that isn't the exact name.
Option 1:
Capital .io
Option 2:
Capitalism .com
The company would be called Capital and it would be a media/news site - not tech, so I'm unsure of the io extension for that use. Nonetheless, I'm torn between the two options. If you had to pick, which one would you do?
Note: I changed the name in the example above since I haven't bought the actual domain name yet but it's very similar to that.
Thanks,
It won't destroy your SEO as long as you execute a strict geometry dash redirect map from every old page to its exact counterpart on the new domain.
Make sure to submit the Change of Address tool in Google Search Console, submit your new XML sitemap, and keep your old domain renewed so external backlinks keep forwarding equity through your redirects! Expect a minor period of ranking fluctuation while Google recrawls, but traffic will recover if the content stays consistent
Can you buy both Capital .io and Capitalio .com ?
