Would you live on this virtual island?

Calling it "The island" for now.

The game on its most fundamental level connects: what you do in real life to what you can do on the island.

You can create your own island, have it all by yourself or invite few friends on it, or join the existing once.

I'll create physics and nature. And you will play it however you like it. Taking huge inspiration from games like Minecraft and StardewValley, and many other sandbox games. Like in those games, here you will be gathering resources to craft weapons or build structures or have pets and fight monsters.

The difference is, on the island you won't be able to farm your resources with just point and click like in those games. But you gather resources by helping real people on the island, by building real relationships, by achieving real goals of your life or set in the island you are part of.

You set your own goal. As an individual or as a team. But if you fail to achieve the goal, things will start to fall. Like volcano erupting near your home or earthquake at your team base destroying your work. You'll always be to fight back though.

The interface will be hardest to crack as it can't look and work fully like a game. Because i think it would add unnecessary to friction to "farming" part.

This subreddit could be island. And all the rules and guidelines and other activities can be turned into goals of that island and those who follow it earn resources and can grow the island adding amazing structures on it.

Not all activity that rewards resources is necessary to perform on the island itself. There could be 3rd party app integration as well. You may just choose to play as a single player and have your own island and have a goal to get fit in real life. Then you can just connect your health app into island and the more calories you burn, the more resources you can get to build more on the island.

If I can set foundation and structure of everything correctly, the application can be endless.

I haven't developed anything on it and most things aren't decided either. Just exploring and looking for any kind of recommendation you have. One thing to note: It won't completely look like a game. As I want to have "Farming" frictionless as well. So you can consider this as a combination of social media + sandbox games.

My purpose with this product is to build something that helps you win in real world
