About Continue
Continue was the leading open-source framework for building custom AI code assistants, distributed under the Apache 2.0 license. In June 2026, the project was acqui-hired by Cursor (Anysphere) and the standalone product was officially shut down. The original GitHub repository is now read-only, and all managed cloud services—including the hosted Hub and user cloud data—were permanently deleted after July 15, 2026. While the project is no longer actively maintained, the final codebase remains available under the Apache 2.0 license for developers who wish to fork or run it locally.
