Sounds somewhat like Simplenote.
I'd been looking for a lighter weight version of Evernote for a while but the thing that Simplenote and others were all missing that Evernote does well is to be able to save things from around the web and scan/OCR photos from my phone.
I'm a big fan of taking a well-established market and putting your own twist on it, especially if your ambition is to make a few thousand MRR.
I think if you stick to developer-focused features: code highlighting, syntax checking, source control stuff (?).
Maybe play in the space somewhere between Simplenote and SublimeText?
A big warning, however: playing in B2C can be tough as an indie developer. People are going to expect iPhone/Android apps, a low price, etc. The only B2C editing tool that I know of that charges a hefty price is Scrivener (it's a highly specialized app for writers).
I just started using Bear which is sort of a dev-focused Evernote, but it's Apple/iOS only. They're super small but already have a decent-sized business. They're priced waaaaaay too low.
They're indie, and moving slow/steady. I see room for a Windows (or web-based) version. Looks like Bear is sticking to Mac.
I like the idea. Have personally thought of something similar as I use typora for markdown note taking and to do pseudo coding. Making the UX revolve around structuring problem solving is where I'm most interested. Like providing a templates workflow on how to answer specific questions to help debug a specific problem.
