AskIH: What basic traffic analytics can I use?
For me google analytics is too complex for what I am looking for, and was hoping someone here may have an alternative I can check out. I started this little app https://jststrt.com/ (a minimal habit tracker) and already track some in app events with https://heapanalytics.com/ but would need now to get a simple dashboard about traffic, visitors, referal, etc. Thanx guyz
You can track visitors more precisely with a dedicated visitor recording tool. There are many of them with different pricing and features (they are usually very cheap or even free), so you can choose which one is best for your needs. These are some of the most popular tools:

I like either Clicky or Mixpanel, depending on what you want to track.
Clicky (https://clicky.com/help/pricing) is good for simple metrics - all the usual things like location, bounce rate, pages visited, referrals etc..
(I think you great free heat maps for a short period of time when you sign up).
Mixpanel is good for Apps - has some nice automatic features for getting events with user data.
It takes more work to get the best out of it though - as you have to wire up each event you want in the code.
